Not bad, huh? From most angles, for sure! But then...
Yeah, I don’t know how I feel about this. But I do know I hate non-car people: I posted just the top picture in a Kia Soul group, where I’m one of like two people who uses/ used the Soul as a secondary car, and holy crap, you’ d think I duct-taped it to the windshield. Every single reply was telling me to “ put it where it belongs,” even after I said I’m not drilling holes in the bumper . “ It won’t hurt the resale value.” Okay, but maybe I don’t * want* holes in my car? I dunno. It does look a bit silly with the big rectangle in the middle, but I think my next project will be to fabricate a better lower grille that doesn’t have that.
But anyway, my point: the BMW 3 -series ( unspecified year) apparently has a ridiculously long/ deep tow hook. That’s what this was meant for, and that’s why it sticks out so much.

I agree with the car group. This looks worse, in my opinion , with the empty space for the license plate and muting the usefulness of the one fog light .

That fog light looks like a blank.

There is a big plastic space, specifically designed to hold a plate.

You have a HUUUUUGE blank space in your front bumper, that just begs for a license plate. Whatever you do, it’ll just look stupid.

Ha! Oh man, that does look truly awful. I would agree with you on not putting it on the bumper if there weren’t a big rectangle
on it for the plate- actually, I’m kind of surprised the dealer didn’t drill holes on the rectangle for a dealer tag where you’re supposed to have a plate.

Don’t know. I liked it, but didn't notice the blank spot for the plate at first. Ultimately, whatever makes you happy

Just drill the holes. Yuck.

Haha, oh man I totally thought it was just a dirty light... which ironically makes my point moot too.

It’s not going to look good unless you put it where it belongs. If you don’t want to drill, maybe you could use some double-sided tape or something.

If you can pull the front fascia/bumper and put some neodymium magnets on the inside surface, you could just slap your license plate on the front exterior without drilling any holes or mucking about with any adhesives.
Of course that means anyone can just swipe your license plate, but it would be the ultimate touch less interface

LED light bar!

Wait a second, they give you a giant flat spot to stick a plate on but no holes with which to mount that plate?

Winch!

That way when something goes wrong later, they can void the warranty because they’ve forced the customer to drill the holes. Why yes, I am a little cynical.

I think on ecars with a spot on the bumper for the plate, you should put your plate there. I hate front plates, but my 2001 Civic has a rectangular bump on the bumper so it would look stupid without the plate. So on that car I had a front license plate. On my BMW I have one because there are 4 holes in the bumper 2 from some one screwing the plate directly into the bumper, and 2 from the plate bracket that was on the car when I bought it,

That is a neat idea. I wouldn’t do it on a painted metal surface, but unpainted plastic should be fine.

Yeah, there are tiny indentations, but that’s all.

I think this might be worse than the US spec WRX and STI which come pre drilled for a Japanese plate.
